The Reka-Card – general information

What is the Reka-Card? 

The Reka-Card is the electronic equivalent of the Reka-Check and works like a debit card (e.g. like the PostFinance or the Maestro cards). It is linked with your Reka account and can be used together with the card PIN directly for payments at payment terminals. Please do not confuse the Reka-Card with a gift card. Unlike a gift card, the Reka-Card has direct access to your account balance.

What are the advantages of the Reka-Card over the Reka-Check? 
  • The Reka-Card offers a greater degree of security.
  • If the card is lost, your credit balance is still available because the card can be blocked.
  • As a Reka-Cardholder you take advantage of various reductions.
  • With the Reka-Card you can pay to the nearest centime.
How do I get a Reka-Card? 

Many employers offer Reka-Money as a fringe benefit. Check whether yours does too. If you do not have the possibility to draw Reka Money via your employer, you can open a Reka account on reka.ch, make a deposit and then your personal Reka-Card will be released.

How much does the Reka-Card cost? 

The annual account management fee is CHF 15.–. Often the employer offers to pay for the yearly fee. You can find out about all fees in our fees overview.

When is the annual account management fee charged? 

The account management fee is always due in advance for the coming year and is charged for the first time when the account is opened. If the card fee is offered by the employer, the CHF 15.– fee debit is visible on the opening day in the Reka-Card account and the following day in the balance.

How can I, as the cardholder, pay into my Reka account? 

You have the following possibilities:

  • using your quota, which you receive from your employer, employer organization or association in the form of a QR invoice
  • using Reka-Checks, which you can send to us and with which we then credit your Reka account
  • via online banking with a discount

I have forgotten my PIN, what now?

You can change your Reka-Card PIN free of charge in the customer portal. You do not have to know your current PIN for this.  

As an alternative, our customer service can order a new PIN for you and send it by post. For this, a CHF 6. – fee will be directly charged to your Reka account. Please use our contact form to get in touch with our customer service or phone them on +41 31 329 66 67. 

How can I modify my Reka-Card PIN? 

Please log in to the Reka customer portal and select the “Change PIN” function.

How can I check out my account balance? 

You can do this in the Reka customer portal at reka.ch or via request by text message: Information about the SMS enquiries procedure.

How can I, as a cardholder, check out my last transactions? 

You can do this in the Reka customer portal at reka.ch or via request by text message: Information about the SMS enquiries procedure.

Is my Reka-Card transferable? 

The Reka-Card is a debit card, which does not require an identity check when payments are made. Lending your Reka-Card to a third person is therefore at your own risk. The Reka declines any responsibility.

How can I load funds onto my card? 

Either you receive QR invoices from your employer for your annual quota. These can also be found in your customer portal.  
Or, if you have paid in all your pay-in slips, you can add funds to your Reka account using an online banking transfer. You will get a 2% discount.  You will also find all relevant information in your customer portal. 

From January 2021, you can also top up your Reka-Card with a 3% discount at all Coop sales outlets.  This way you can re-load your Reka account quickly and easily.

Can I combine two Reka accounts? 

It is not possible to combine multiple Reka-Cards or accounts. A Reka account may only be held by a single natural person.

Additional Reka-Cards

How does the additional card work? 

Additional cards have access to your Reka account like the main card. The Junior Card has a withdrawal limit of monthly CHF 200.–. The Partner Card, like your main card, has no withdrawal limit. Each additional card has its own PIN code, which can also be changed individually.

What does the additional card cost?

A yearly fee of CHF 6.– is charged for the additional card. This will be debited from the main cardholder’s Reka account. You can find out about all fees in the fees overview.

How can I obtain an additional card?

Junior and Partner cards can be applied for in our customer portal.

How do I obtain a replacement card?  

You can only order a replacement card from our customer service.  Please note that there will be a card replacement fee. A fee is charged for a replacement card. You can find out about all fees in the fees overview.

Paying with the Reka-Card

Where can I pay with the Reka-Card? 

Under reka.ch you will find a list of all Reka-Card acceptance points.

Is there a Reka Money application?

Yes, there is a Reka Money app.The Reka Money app is a web app which cannot be downloadedvia Apple or Google Store.

What can I pay with Reka Money?

Reka Money is an earmarked means of payment for services in the holidays and leisure sphere. Purchase of goods is only authorized in specific cases, for example when buying fuel. Purchase of other goods such as sports articles in a sports shop is not authorized. Rental equipment, however, may be paid with Reka Money.

Fill up your tank with the Reka-Card 

You can refuel to the nearest centime with the Reka-Card at AVIA, BP and Coop Pronto petrol stations. The petrol station may provisionally debit a reservation amount until final accounting of payments.

Can I redeem a Coop discount voucher when filling up my tank at Coop Pronto and pay with the Reka-Card at the same time?

No. No additional discount is granted on fuel because Reka-Pay is already sold at Coop with a discount and Coop pays a commission for accepting Reka Money.

How does the Reka-Card payment take place?

Payment works in the same way as with the Maestro card. Depending on the card terminal model, contactless payment is also possible. In order to facilitate swift payment procedure for small amounts of up to CHF 40.–, entry of a PIN code is unnecessary for contactless payment.

Does the Reka-Card require a PIN code?

A PIN code is always required for contact-based payment with the Reka-Card (insertion of the Reka-Card into the payment terminal). However, the PIN is not required for contactless payments of small amounts of up to CHF 40.–.

Incorrect PIN entry. What now?

The card will be blocked after three incorrect, time-independent PIN entries. Please contact our Reka Money customer service with our our contact form or call +41 31 329 66 67.

How do I know whether a payment terminal has 
the contactless payment function?

Look out for the following symbol or ask at the sales point.

How secure is contactless payment?

For the following reasons, payment with the contactless function is secure:

  • The card never leaves your hand during the whole payment process.
  • Data transfer from the card chip to the card reader is only possible if you hold the card up close to the card reader.
  • You can only use the card for one transaction per contact with the card reader because the card’s security chip only ever generates a single, one-off code for each transaction. Multiple use of this code or an incorrect code will be immediately identified.
  • For amounts of over CHF 40.–, you must enter the card’s PIN code as well.
Can I disable the contactless payment function?

Your Reka-Card’s contactless function can be disabled and also reactivated it if required in the Reka customer portal.

Can Reka-Card payment be refused?

Refusal of the card is possible. Please contact our customer service if your card is refused.

I have a second form of Reka Money on my Reka-Card for the first time. What now?

Your Reka-Card must be updated so that both forms of Reka Money can be used as payment. You will find instructions for activating the programme here: Activating an extra form of Reka Money

When paying, how can I select the form of Reka-Money I wish to pay with?

If you are paying at a Reka acceptance point which accepts several forms of Reka Money, you can select the required form on the payment terminal’s display screen. If only one form of Reka Money is accepted as a means of payment, the transaction is automatically carried out using the available form of Reka Money. Selection is not possible with contactless payment.

Can I make one payment using two forms of Reka Money?

If the acceptance point allows partial payment, you can pay with two forms of Reka Money. For each form of Reka Money there is one transaction. For example, when paying for the SBB GA Travelcard, you can make one transaction with Reka-Checks and then complete the payment with a second transaction using Reka-Rail+.

Can my account balance be overdrawn with the 
Reka-Card?

No. The Reka-Card can only be used as long as the Reka account has sufficient funds.

Where can I pay online with the Reka-Card?

Here you will find an overview of all acceptance points where you can pay on their websites or applications. At many acceptance points the invoice can be settled via the Reka customer portal. Information on the appropriate payment process will be given to you in the Reka customer portal when you go to the Acceptance Points item in the menu.

How do I pay using the SBB Mobile app?

You must register the Reka-Card in the app as a means of payment. You’ll find settings for the means of payment in your profile in the SBB Mobile app.

The Reka-Card cannot be registered in the SBB Mobile app or a payment cannot be completed.

 If, when you attempt to register a means of payment or to make a payment, the following error message appears on the screen, it may be for one of the following reasons:

  • Your Reka-Card is not active or has been blocked. The status of your card can be checked in the Reka customer portal under ‘Card management’.
  • The customer portal is not yet fully set up for you. For example, the General Terms & Conditions have not yet been confirmed.
  • Log-in data registered for your customer portal are erroneous. You can reset your password on reka.ch or contact our customer service.
  • Your Reka-Card has been changed or renewed and must be registered again.
  • Your Reka-Card credit balance is insufficient.
  • You have overshot your Reka-Card expiry date.
How do I pay in a Reka acceptance point’s webshop and app?

This varies with each acceptance point. In most cases, the Reka Logo features in the selection as a means of payment in the purchasing process. Choose this payment method and record the necessary information. 

I have several currency forms, so how should I proceed with an online payment?

If you have more than one currency form (e.g. Reka-Pay and Reka-Rail+) and as long as this is accepted by the Reka Partner, you must record them individually and separately in each application. In other words, record the Reka-Card with the Reka-Pay money form and then once again with Reka-Rail+. Consequently, when you pay, you can comfortably choose the form of Reka currency you require.

Can I pay with  Reka-Pay in travel agencies?

Yes, many travel agencies accept  Reka-Pay. You'll find the overview here. Please inquire directly with your travel agent about possible restrictions when paying with Reka-Pay as travel agents may set a limit for payment with Reka-Pay.

Blocking/Unblocking the Reka-Card

How can I block my Reka-Card?

You have several possibilities for blocking your Reka-Card with us.

By telephone

Immediately report the loss to our customer service on +41 31 329 66 00 (Monday to Friday, between 8.30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. – 5 p.m.). Outside these hours you can record your blocking order on our answerphone. Please supply the following details:

  • First name and family name
  • Complete postal address
  • Telephone number
  • Reka account number or Reka-Card number
  • User-ID or customer number

At the same time please stipulate that your Reka-Card must be blocked. Your card can only be blocked if all required details are complete and accurate.

Online

Log in to the Reka profile and open the “My Reka-Cards” section. Then select the “Blocking the Reka-Card” function. A new Reka-Card will not be automatically issued for you. Please call our customer service on +41 31 329 66 67 to apply for a new Reka-Card.

You can simply and conveniently unblock your Reka-Card via your Reka account or by getting in touch with our customer service by phone or email. 

How can I tell if a card has been blocked?

When a card has been blocked, it is no longer accepted by the terminal. The following text is displayed: “Card blocked.” Please contact our customer service with our contact form or call +41 31 329 66 67.

Can the blocking be cancelled?

Unblock your card via your Reka account on reka.ch or contact our customer service with our contact form or by phone +41 31 329 66 67.

Card blocking if the card is lost

When your card is blocked in case of loss, apply for a new Reka-Card. The CHF 12.– fee will be charged to your Reka account

How long does it take to deliver a replacement card?

As a rule you receive the replacement card within three to four working days.

Termination of the Reka-Card (Reka account)

Do you wish to terminate your Reka account and your Reka-Card? Please use the termination form, which you can return to us by email to customerservice@reka.ch or by post.

Termination of the Reka-Card (Reka account) in the event of death

In case of death, we recommend that you utilize the available Reka account credit balance or redeem it in Reka-Checks. For termination, in addition to the termination form, we require a copy of the inheritance certificate.

Reka-Card at Coop

Replacement of Reka-Checks by 01.01.2021

Reka-Card instead of Reka Checks at Coop

As of January 1, 2021, the electronic Reka-Card will replace the previous Reka-Checks at Coop. You can find the most important changes here at a glance.

Why will there be no more Reka-Checks at the Coop?

The Reka-Card is modern and practical and enables you to pay cash-free. Compared to Reka-Checks, it provides more security: customers can register and their credit is protected against card loss or theft.

Up to which date will I still be able to buy Reka-Checks at the Coop?

You can buy Reka-Checks until 31st December, 2020. From 2021, there will only be the Reka-Card. 

I don’t want a Reka-Card. Where can I still buy Reka-Checks?

You can no longer buy Reka-Checks directly. By registering your card, you activate your Reka account and can order Reka-Checks from your account credit balance at home. Delivery charge is CHF 10.00. Please get in touch with us.

Will Reka-Checks be discontinued? 

No. 

Will my Reka-Checks still be valid next year?

Reka-Checks remain fully valid and are accepted at many acceptance points. You’ll find the list of acceptance points under “Finding acceptance points”. 

Can I load the Reka-Checks on to my new Reka-Card?

You can register Reka-Checks using the appropriate form and send a maximum of CHF 500.- per dispatch to Reka. You can download the form here

Why is Reka changing its range at the Coop?

The Reka-Card is now being offered at the Coop for security reasons: it is modern, practical and offers customers more security when they register the card. 

Buying/Loading the Reka-Card 

What is the Reka-Card?

The Reka-Card functions like a debit card (e.g. the PostFinance card or the Maestro card) and can be used as payment at Reka acceptance point terminals.  

What are the advantages of using the Reka-Card as compared to Reka-Checks?

With the Reka-Card you pay cash-free. When you register your Reka-Card, it offers more security (e.g. in the event of card loss). With the Reka-Card you can pay to the nearest cent as well as cash-free. In addi-tion, you can use it to pay in lots of web shops and Reka partner apps, such as e.g. the SBB app. These can be found under “Finding acceptance points”.

Will I also get a 3% discount on the Reka-Card?

You enjoy the 3 % discount on digital Reka assets that you can load on to your Reka-Card. You can only purchase a Reka-Card at the Coop, however, if you have a Coop Supercard. 

Where can I buy the Reka-Card? 

In selected Coop supermarkets such as Jumbo, Coop City and Coop branch offices.

Where can I top-up my Reka-Card?

You can load Reka credit at the customer service (in selected Coop supermarkets such as Jumbo, Coop City and Coop branch offices).

What is the minimum top-up?

The minimum top-up amount is CHF 10.- in Reka Money.

Is there a daily limit?

The maximum daily limit is CHF 3,000. - in Reka-Pay.

The non-registered card is provided with a top-up limit. The total amount of all top-ups cannot overshoot the top-up limit of CHF 5,000.– in Reka-Pay. An overshoot is only possible after successful registration here.

I already possess a Reka-Card. Can I load additional credit on it at the Coop?

Yes. This is possible at selected Coop supermarkets, such as Jumbo, Coop City and at branch offices. 

With which means of payment can I draw digital Reka-Pay credit at the Coop?

Cash, MaestroCH, the Supercard credit card (Mastercard, Visa & Visa Prepaid), Visa Debit, Debit Mastercard and VPAY (other credit cards are not accepted) and PostFinance Card.

Registering the Reka-Card 

Where can I register my Reka-Card? 

You can register it directly online.

Why do I have to register my Reka-Card?

When you register your Reka-Card, your credit balance is secured and protected thanks to a personal PIN.  If you don’t register your Reka-Card, the PIN pre-printed on the front of the card is valid and pro-vides no protection in case of card loss. 

Must I have a Reka account?

As soon as credit is loaded on to your Reka-Card, an account is opened for the card. As soon as you regis-ter your Reka-Card, you have access to it and your credit balance is personalized and thus protected.  

Will I receive a new card after registering?

No. You can continue using your Reka-Card. 

Can I have my name written on my card?

No. But, for a fee, you can request a card replacement. Kindly contact our customer service for this. The replacement card costs CHF 12.– in Reka Money. 

Can I have my Reka-Card registered by the Reka Customer Service?

No. Registration must be done personally online.

I don’t have an email address and cannot complete the registration process.

Please open a free account with an appropriate provider. 

Account management fee

How much does the Reka-Card cost?

The account management fee comes to CHF 6.– annually and is automatically debited from Reka credit with the first deposit. If you register your Reka-Card, this first annual fee will be waived and refunded to your account within a few hours.

How should I pay the account management fee?

The CHF 6.– account management fee is automatically debited from the digital Reka credit after the card is loaded for the first time. You must bear this fee in mind when you load the card. Example: You load CHF 50.– on to a Reka-Card, the CHF 6.– for the card fee is debited and the actual remaining credit amounts to CHF 44.–. 

How will the account management fee be reimbursed after my registration?

The account management fee amounts to CHF 6.– annually and will be charged when you load the card the first time (i.e. debited from your credit balance). If you register your Reka-Card, the first annual fee will be waived and refunded to your account within a few hours.

Why must I pay an account management fee?

The account management fee covers account management. This includes numerous online services:  you can change your PIN, block your card, your credit is protected, you can check your balance and the last transactions, you can transfer credit to another Reka account, pay invoices of selected Reka partners, and lots more. 

Why is the account management fee at the Coop only CHF 6.– and not CHF 15.– like elsewhere?

Coop covers most of the cost.

I have received a Reka-Card from my employer and have to pay the CHF 15.– account management fee myself. Will I also be refunded the CHF 6.– once my card is registered?

No. When you receive the Reka-Card from your employer, the account management fee is applied as stipulated by your employer. There is no card fee refund. Thanks to your employer, you receive an annual quota of Reka Money with a high discount as well as pay-in slips delivered to your address so that you can pay in and load your credit conveniently at home.

Why is there a PIN on the Reka-Card?

When you buy your Reka-Card it is not personalized and can be used right away as a means of payment at Reka Acceptance points. As soon as you register your card, you can change the PIN and your credit balance is protected. 

How can I change the PIN?

You can register your Reka-Card under reka.ch/card. On this page you’ll be guided step by step through the registration process and will be able to change the PIN.  

Is it possible to change the PIN at a cash dispenser?

No.

How should I proceed if I have lost my Reka-Card?

If you have not registered your card the money is lost. If, however, you registered the card you can block it online or have it blocked by our Customer Service (using the contact form or by phone +41 31 329 66 00).

What do I do with my card when there is no more credit?

You can top it up at all times with new credit at selected Coop sales points.

How can I terminate my Reka account?

By filling in the corresponding termination form. The addresses can be found on the form. If you have completely used up your credit balance, you can also terminate your account by phone. 

The Reka-Card as a gift

Can I give someone the Reka-Card as a present?

Yes. You can. The beneficiary can register their Reka-Card upon reception and change the PIN. The credit balance is thus secured.  

What can I do with the card when the credit is used up?

You can top it up with more credit at the Coop or close the account. 

Will I also pay an account management fee if I give a card as a present?

Yes. The account management fee will be automatically debited when the card is loaded the first time. Please bear this fee in mind therefore when choosing the amount you wish to give. Example: you load CHF 50.- on to a Reka-Card and the beneficiary actually only receives a credit of CHF 44.-. The beneficiary can register their Reka-Card online, change the PIN and is also refunded for the CHF 6.-.

Reka Money quota

Is this the first time you have received paying-in slips for discounted purchase of Reka Money from your employer? 

After your first payment you automatically receive your personal Reka-Card. Your employer will have sent you an information letter about this with all necessary details such as the terms and conditions. Your personnel department will gladly help you with any queries you may have.

What does “the employer’s quota” mean? 

Many employers provide Reka Money for their staff with a generous discount. To this effect, the staff member annually receives one or more QR invoices for a stipulated amount. We call the total amount of these QR invoices “the employer’s quota”.

Can I purchase only part of my employer’s quota? 

Because this is a voluntary fringe benefit, there is no payment obligation. What is important, however, is that the payment always corresponds to the amount on the QR invoice. You can’t pay in only part of the amount printed on a single QR invoice.

Is there a payment obligation for my quota

Your employer’s QR invoice is a purely voluntary fringe benefit regarding which there is no payment obligation for you at all. You don’t have to pay these slips in if you do not wish to.

Is there an expiry date for Reka Money?

No. Reka Money has no expiry date, whether it is in the form of Reka-Pay, Reka-Lunch or Reka-Rail+. However, the QR invoices are only valid until their expiry date. If they are not paid in before this, at a later date the staff member will no longer be entitled to draw the discounted Reka Money offered by the employer for the corresponding year.

Can I decide whether I receive Reka-Checks or a Reka-Card?

No. This decision will be taken by your employer. After your payment, either Reka-Checks will be delivered directly to your home address or a Reka account will be opened for you and a Reka-Card issued with it. However, if you prefer Reka-Checks and do not wish to enjoy the Reka-Card’s numerous advantages, you can convert your electronic money online in your Reka account into Reka-Checks. Due to the cost incurred by registered check delivery, a conversion fee of CHF 10.– is charged. This amount will be debited from your account prior to delivery. Important: you can only draw Reka-Checks in CHF 10.– and CHF 50.– denominations.

Can I pass my Reka Money quota on to third parties? 

You may pass on your pay-in slips or your quota. Please note that in the case of a payment, the amount paid in will always be credited to the entitled Reka Money recipient account. If the latter does not yet have a Reka-Card, a Reka account with a Reka-Card will be opened automatically after the payment. The credit can be transferred to a third party via Reka profile using the function "transfer credit".

Reka-Check is now Reka-Pay

What is Reka-Pay?

Reka-Pay is the digital currency for Reka-Checks.  

Why is it no longer called Reka-Check? / Why the new name?

The designation Reka-Check refers to a note. With the digitization of payment transactions, the term Reka-Check is confusing within the overall system and is no longer up-to-date. Some 70% of payments with Reka Money are now performed electronically and only 30% still with the paper Reka-Checks. Hence the change to the neutral term Reka-Pay.  Reka-Pay continues to be the earmarked means of payment for holidays, PT tickets, fuel and leisure activities.

Where can I pay with Reka-Pay? 

You can pay with Reka-Pay at all Reka acceptance points which have a terminal and in Reka partners’ web shops and apps (e.g. SBB). These acceptance points can be found under «Finding acceptance points» on the reka.ch website.

Where can I obtain Reka-Pay?

Reka-Pay is provided by many employers as a fringe benefit, bonus or gift, at employees’ associations and at Coop with a 3% discount, using the Supercard. 

Will I lose my credit balance if I still have Reka-Check on the account? 

No. Your credit balance remains unchanged. Only the name changes because Reka-Check in its digital money form is now called Reka-Pay.

Will my existing credit balance be automatically converted into Reka-Pay?

A conversion is not necessary. Only the name changes. Reka-Check’s digital money form is now called Reka-Pay.

Are my Reka-Checks still valid?

Reka-Checks are still fully valid and accepted at many acceptance points. You’ll find the acceptance points under «Finding acceptance points» on the reka.ch website. 

Reka-Lunch

General information

What is Reka-Lunch?

Reka-Lunch is a specific means of payment earmarked for staff catering. It is a form of Reka Money which is available on the Reka-Card. Reka-Lunch can only be obtained through employers who supply it.

Where can I pay with Reka-Lunch?

You can pay with the Reka-Lunch card in restaurants, staff cafeterias, bakeries, take-aways, etc., and you will find all acceptance points on reka.ch.

How can I add funds to my card?

You receive QR invoices for your annual quota from your employer. Two or three working days after the payment has been made, the Reka-Lunch credit will be added to your Reka-Card.

When will I receive the Reka-Card?

As soon as the first payment is made, the Reka-Card will be sent to your private address. Your PIN will follow by separate mail.

When do I receive the Reka customer portal access data?

The login data will be sent together with the pay-in slips.

How much discount do I receive with Reka-Lunch?

Your employer decides on the discount for Reka-Lunch. Therefore, it can vary according to the employer.

Can I also use Reka-Lunch as a means of payment for other purposes?

Reka-Lunch is reserved for exclusive personal catering use and is blocked for the purchase of other goods and services. 

What is the maximum amount of Reka-Lunch credit I can add?

Your employer fixes the annual quota, which cannot be exceeded.

Reka-Rail+

General information about Reka-Rail+

What can I use Reka-Rail+ for?

Reka-Rail+ is earmarked for use and exclusively redeemable at public transport acceptance points. You’ll find an overview of all acceptance points under reka.ch.

Your employer does not provide Reka-Rail+, but you would also like to take advantage of discounted public transport?

At selected Coop supermarkets, Jumbo, Coop City and Coop branch offices you can enjoy the 3% discount on Reka-Pay, using your Supercard. You can thus use the Reka-Pay credit as a means of payment both for public transport and lots of mountain railways, as well as at countless acceptance points. You can also very simply register your Reka-Card as a means of payment on the SBB Mobile App, and use it to pay in webshops. 

How long are Reka-Rail Checks valid?

Reka-Rail Checks have no expiry date.

Can I pay at PT vending automats with Reka-Rail Checks?

Yes.  Reka-Rail Checks are machine readable and redeemable at SBB and other automats.

Can I fill my tank with Reka-Rail?

What can I use Reka-Checks for? 

Reka-Checks are redeemable at some 9,000 redemption points such as hotels, restaurants, travel agents, Reka Holidays and public transport sales points, event tickets counters (at SBB railway stations), museums, mountain railways and ski lifts, leisure parks, sport and fitness centres, circuses, zoos and many more. You’ll find a list of all redemption points at reka.ch

Where can I buy Reka-Checks?

Over 4,200 forward-looking employers emit Reka Money for their employees as a fringe benefit with an average 20% discount. It is worthwhile asking your employer for details. Other purchasing sources are associations and trade unions. Supercard-holders receive the practical Reka-Card with a 3 % discount at selected Coop sales points (Coop supermarkets, Coop Bau+Hobby and Coop City) and Coop deposit branches.

Where can I get which percentage discount?

From many employers, associations and trade unions you can obtain Reka-Checks with up to 20% discount, and 3% discount from Coop.

Which Coop branches sell Reka-Checks?

From January 2021, at selected Coop sales points (Coop supermarkets, Coop Bau+Hobby and Coop City) as well as Coop deposit branches, Coop will be selling the practical Reka-Card instead of Reka Checks.

How long are Reka-Checks valid? 

Reka-Checks have no expiry date.

Can I also use Reka-Checks to pay for petrol?

Yes, at AVIA, BP and Coop Pronto petrol stations you can pay with Reka-Checks. Reka-Checks and Reka-Cards are machine-readable.

Can I use Reka-Checks to pay at dispensers?

Yes, Reka-Checks are machine-readable and redeemable at SBB, AVIA, BP and Coop Pronto dispensers and other vending machines.

Can I exchange Reka-Checks for cash?

No, Reka-Checks cannot be exchanged for cash.

What are Reka-Check denominations?

Reka-Checks exist in CHF 10.– and CHF 50.– denominations.

Can I get change on Reka-Checks?

No, our redemption partners are not obliged to give change in cash.

Where do I find my RekaNet account?

RekaNet was renamed the Reka customer portal when the new website was launched. At reka.ch, you will find a login button in the top right-hand corner where you can access your account as usual.

How can I log in?

Enter your personal data such as your user ID and password on reka.ch to access your personal Reka account.

Your user ID and password will have been sent to you with the QR invoice for your Reka-Money quota. If you don’t have them anymore, please contact our customer service.

I can’t log in with my email address. What now?

Your email address is not registered with reka.ch. Kindly use your user ID to log in. Subsequently you can register your email address (format user ID: e.g. 01234567). Once it is registered, you will be able to log in with your email address as well.

I have forgotten my password. How can I receive a new password?

You can reset your password yourself at all times. You can request a new password by clicking on “Password forgotten” under reka.ch. The new password will be sent to you by A-Priority post. If your email address or mobile phone number is registered in your Reka profile, you will receive the reset password electronically.

What does “2-way authentication” mean?

2-way authentication is a 2-stage registration procedure and optimizes security for access to your account. For you as an account holder, this results in advantageous liability conditions (see GTC, paragraph 29).

What do I have to do to use a 2-way authentication?

You activate the 2-way authentication directly in your Reka account. You can choose between SMS or an authenticator app (e.g. Microsoft or Google Authenticator). If you choose to proceed by SMS, you will receive an SMS sent to your registered mobile phone number each time you log in to the Reka customer portal with a one-time valid code which you must enter in the customer portal.  If you choose the authenticator app, you confirm your login with a code you retrieve via an authenticator app (e.g. Microsoft or Google Authenticator).
In the customer portal, under «My Profile», you can change your mobile phone number at all times or adjust, enable or disable your security settings.

I have changed my mobile phone number, what now?

If you have registered your old mobile phone number and can no longer sign in to the Reka customer portal, please contact our customer service.

I do not possess a mobile phone. What now?

You can also log in to reka.ch without 2-way authentication. You simply use the 1-stage login procedure by entering your user ID and your password.

How can I, as a cardholder, pay into my Reka account?

You have the following possibilities:

  • using your quota, which you receive from your employer, employer organization or association in the form of a QR invoice
  • using Reka-Checks, which you can send to us and with which we then credit your Reka account
  • via online banking with a discount

How can I check out my account balance?

In the Reka customer portal at reka.ch or via request by text message: Information about the SMS enquiries procedure.

How can I, as a cardholder, check my last transactions?

In the Reka customer portal at reka.ch or via request by text message: Information about the SMS enquiries procedure.

How much does it cost to send the account statement by post?

Possible is a monthly or annual subscription. The account statement costs CHF 2.50 per dispatch. In your customer portal you can download an extract yourself.

What other alternatives do I have if I do not wish to accept the cost of postal delivery of the account statement?

You can check your transactions at any time in your personal account in the Reka customer portal. Information by telephone is also possible (the customer’s identity is verified with control questions).

Can I also make payments to Reka partners with my Reka-Card?

Yes. It is possible to pay our partners via Reka customer portal. Invoices from certain acceptance points can be paid through your Reka account.

Where can I find the reference number for a payment to a Reka partner?

You’ll find the reference number on the QR invoice you received from your travel agent, Mobility or any other Reka partner. If you do not have a paying-in slip or were not sent one, please contact the invoice issuer directly.

How can I make an address change?

Log in to the customer portal in order to change your postal address and go to the «My profile» box where you can change your address yourself. Otherwise kindly fill in our contact form. 

Can I perform an account transfer with different forms of Reka Money?

An account transfer will only work when the debit and credit accounts correspond with the same form of Reka Money. The recipient must have an active account with the corresponding form of Reka Money.

How can I convert my existing account credit balance into Reka-Checks?

You can convert your available credit balance into Reka-Checks in your personal Reka account. Due to the registered postage costs incurred, check delivery costs CHF 10.–, which will be directly charged to your account.

Is there a Print@Home possibility in the customer portal?

Yes. You can download single pay-in slips with the readable QR code in PDF format. The function is available as a button in the customer portal with each open QR invoice.

How do I book Reka Holidays?

You can book online on reka.ch or by phone +41 31 329 66 99. Our Central Booking Office will gladly advise you from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 12.00 and from 1.30 to 5 pm.

Must I be a member to book a holiday flat with Reka?

No, there’s no membership with Reka.

 

What is all-included in the rental price?

Which additional costs will I have to pay? You will be informed during the booking process which services are included in the price and what you can book individually. Upon booking closure, an overview clearly lists all details and costs in your Reka account. This is where you can also add requests for modification. You don’t have a Reka account? Register in the Reka customer portal!

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are welcome in selected holiday resorts and flats (for a fee, see contract documents). Dog-friendly apartments are marked with the corresponding logo.

 

Up to what age can children sleep in a cot?

Up to 2 years-old, children are considered as infants and are provided with a cot, if this is included in your holiday flat.

How many people should stay in the apartment I’ve booked?

The maximum occupancy rate in the room description must not be exceeded. During the booking process you record in advance all travel participants.

I am expecting a visitor during my stay. Can they spend the night with us in the apartment?

Yes, as long as the maximum occupancy rate is not exceeded, your visitor may stay with you in the apartment. For security reasons, kindly announce your guests at the reception in advance. If you have booked via Reka Foundation For Holiday Aid, specific regulations apply here. Please inquire directly by phone on +41 31 329 66 80.

My preferred destination is fully booked. Do you have a waiting list?

No. We don’t have any waiting lists. All accommodation is directly bookable online where available.

I rely on a guide-dog. Can I bring him with me?

Yes, guide-dogs are welcome in all our Reka resorts. Please note that your dog must be identified as a guide-dog and kept on a lead. Please register him as soon as you book so that we are prepared.

I need a barrier-free apartment. How can I find one and how can I book it?

You’ll find all the information you need regarding our wide range on the «Barrier-free Holidays by Reka» website. Booking of a barrier-free apartment is possible upon request, directly online, by email to ferien@reka.ch or by phone +41 31 329 66 99. Our holiday advisors will gladly assist you.

Can I pay my holiday booking with Reka Money?

Yes, you can settle your holidays in your Reka account online and in full with Reka-Pay or paper Reka-Checks. With the Reka-Rail currency you can only pay for tickets on mountain railways and ski lifts as well as for public transport tickets such as rail tickets, season tickets or SBB RailAway offers. With the Reka-Lunch currency you can pay for restaurant and takeaway bills.

Which payment terms apply?

All payment terms are visible during the booking process and may vary according to the resort and offers.

Can I use several means of payment for the same invoice?

Yes, you can split payment of your invoice between different means of payment. As long as we receive the total amount at the conclusion of booking, no fee will be charged for payment by instalments.
Have you reached a limit with your digital means of payment and are you unable to settle the total amount with it?

For free «Payment splitting», please proceed as follows:

  • Select means of payment 1
  • Enter the required amount and authorize payment (in your app or on reka.ch)
  • A green tick appears after means of payment 1 to show the amount is available
  • Select means of payment 2 and authorize this (still outstanding) amount
  • A green tick appears after means of payment 2 to show the amount is available

You can split payment over as many means of payment as you like.

How can I pay for my holidays with the individual forms of Reka Money?
  1. You still have Reka-Checks in their note form and would like to use them as payment? We take them into account for your booking. Select this means of payment when you book. With our booking confirmation, you’ll receive a delivery note with all the necessary information.
  2. As a Reka Money customer WITHOUT a Reka-Card but WITH a Reka account you debit your Reka account online with the amount requested. 
  3. As a Reka Money customer WITH a Reka-Card and WITH a Reka account, you select the Reka-Card when booking as the means of payment and enter the required information.
  4. You have a Reka-Card but not a Reka Login? Quite simply book «as a guest». During booking, select the Reka-Card as the means of payment and enter the required information.

Why not open your personal Reka account too, free of charge, in a couple of clicks!

At what point is the booking binding?

The rental contract between the tenant and Reka is binding from the booking closure, i.e. with the booking confirmation sent by email.

Why do I have to confirm the booking again after payment?

Payment and booking are two distinct processes. With the last booking confirmation, you bring both processes together and complete final closure. The prerequisite is that at least one payment has reached us.  
Currently, the following steps are required:

  1. Make payment and confirm
  2. Finally confirm booking

We are working on optimization of the process.
You will see that the booking is completed and valid in the email with the booking confirmation you will immediately receive from us.

Why, as a longstanding Reka Holidays customer, don’t I have a «Reka Login»?

To run our online booking system, we can only work with the Reka accounts of customers who use Reka Money and therefore already have a «Reka Login». Why not set up your personal Reka account with a «Login» yourself, free of charge, in a few clicks. This way you can simply and comfortably book, pay and manage your holiday bookings round the clock!

How much does it cost to cancel?

Cancellation costs vary according to the offer and period. All payment terms are visible during the booking process. You’ll also find information on this in our Rental Terms and Conditions.

Can I take out a travel insurance on booking?

Reka offers you the possibility to insure the journey you book with our Partner AXA. The fee varies according to the holiday offers in Switzerland and abroad. So that the insurance protection is guaranteed, the invoice must be paid within 30 days of the booking closure.

What does «Booking on request» mean for me?

For the time being, we cannot offer you exactly the desired accommodation at the same dates. We are happy to clarify with our partner whether they can still confirm your desired flat or suggest an alternative.
Barrier-free flats are however reserved for guests who enjoy priority due to a handicap. In this case, as well, we will clarify for you in advance whether the flat can be released for you.

Can we just find and book a flat if we know its name?

No, you search, find and book the suitable offers according to holiday themes or regions. Enter a search term under  "Holiday Search & Bookin the field «Where to go?» e.g. «Holiday flat in Ticino» or «Valais», themes such as «Beach holidays», «Wellness» and «Short breaks». A hit list shows you all facilities linked with this search term. You can check out these offers first or book straightaway. Or you can visit the theme pages on offer for more inspiration or our specific destination pages to find out more about the holiday region.
When you click on «search», the list of all accommodation will appear, corresponding best to your search criteria and can be booked.

What is a «promocode» and how does it work?

The promocode entitles you to pay with (mostly reduced) special conditions. You receive promocodes thanks to special offers from our marketing department or you employer. You enter the code in the field marked accordingly in the red search bar.
Important: you must absolutely enter your promocode when you search for accommodation. After the code has been entered, the already reduced price will appear. We no longer take the promocode into account after booking conclusion.
