Frequently Asked Questions
How much can be paid out tax-free annually as a bonus/gift?
Natural gifts such as Christmas, birthday or anniversary gifts up to a value of CHF 600 per calendar year are tax-free. If the value exceeds CHF 600, the total amount must be declared under item 2.3 in the salary certificate. Cash gifts are always considered part of the salary and must be declared accordingly in the salary certificate.
