Cannobio market (Italy)
Cannobio is the first Italian town after the border crossing at Brissago. The Sunday market offers a wide range of goods - from leather goods, flowers and clothes to household appliances. Fresh products such as cheese, sausages, fish, fruit and vegetables are also on offer. Colourful market activity with Italian charm awaits you! There are numerous bars and restaurants on the piazza.
Weekly market in Luino
The city of Luino is located on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, where a state of emergency reigns once a week. Every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., hundreds of bargain hunters gather on site to make many a deal and also to haggle from time to time. Public transport such as buses and trains run to the market, as do boats.

Brissago is located between Locarno, the warmest city in Switzerland, and the frontier with Italy. The small Ticinese town is also the lowest point in Switzerland, at only 197 meters above sea-level.
Brissago’s reputation reaches far beyond the frontier for its marvellous view out over the Isole di Brissago. Mansions with fabulous gardens look out over the view of the two small Brissago islands, especially the botanical gardens created by the Russian Baroness Antoinette Saint-Léger as a paradise on earth between 1885 to 1928. The green island paradise is easily accessible by boat.
Brissago is also famous for its tobacco factory and its iconic cigars. The enchanting hamlet bewitches visitors with its picturesque lakeside village centre. With its narrow, winding alleys leading up to the wonderful Renaissance church of San Pietro e Paolo, the village is the perfect place for a stroll.

The southern part of the canton is particularly interesting for anyone looking for the perfect combination of urbanity and nature.

By train: via Gotthard-Bellinzona to Locarno. Take bus 316 from Locarno to the Brissago-Posta stop (journey time 25 min.). Then change to bus 308 (Brissago local bus) to check-in at the Parkhotel Brenscino Brissago. The transfer to the resort is on foot (approx. 20 minutes), by bus of line 308 or by taxi (Taxi Prato, +41 79 331 33 33 / by appointment / minimum 2 days before arrival or departure).
By car: leave the N2 freeway at Bellinzona Sud and drive towards Locarno-Brissago. In Brissago turn right at the post office into Via Costa di Mezzo, continue in Via Sacro Monte until you reach Parkhotel Brenscino Brissago.
Information: for guests of the Reka holiday residence Brissago, the boat transport (Brenscino boat) as well as the transport with the hotel shuttle is not available ( even for a fee).
