In southern Valais, right at the far edge of the Val d’Anniviers valley, lies the holiday resort of Zinal, 1,670 metres above sea level. The valley ends with a stunning mountain backdrop – the famous Imperial Crown of no fewer than five peaks all over 4,000 metres high, including the Weisshorn, the fourth-highest mountain in Europe. In front of this panorama you can hike in summer on a network of trails which run for about 300 km over lush meadows past ancient larch wood huts. Waterfalls, wildlife, spring flowers and the song of the marmots in summer. All the way to the golden larches in autumn. Or you can look forward to 150 km of marked trails on your bike. Or on 70 km of pistes or 19 km of cross-country trails for wonderful winter sports days, cross-country skiing trails and toboggan runs. Nature offers something for every taste and age. Alles in allem top: sehr familienfreundlich, viele Kinder-Gadgets kostenlos verfügbar und eine neue, moderne sowie ästhetisch schöne Infrastruktur. Wir haben uns als Familie sehr wohlgefühlt. Verbesserungswürdig wären aus unserer Sicht etwas wärmere Wassertemperaturen, ein Kinderhütedienst, der zeitlich besser auf die Skikurse abgestimmt ist, sowie eine mehrsprachige Betreuung (mindestens deutsch/französisch). Auch bequemere Bettsofas würden den Komfort nochmals erhöhen.

Très bon sejour en famille. Nous étions 4 dans un logement avec une chambre et 1 canapé lit dans le salon. Je recommanderai d’ajouter un peu plus d’assiettes et de couverts dans les placards car autrement on n’arrive pas à remplir suffisamment le lave-vaisselle et on doit finalement faire la vaisselle à la main. Les activités proposées au Rekalino Club sont super et la location de raquettes est top pour une petite randonnée par temps de neige. Petite suggestion à Reka: je conseillerai aussi de disposer les places de stationnement en « épi » car pas evident de sortir des places surtout s’il y a beaucoup de neige. Autrement le personnel est adorable et serviable. Nous reviendrons certainement 😉

Your holiday accommodation in Zinal
At the end of the Val d’Anniviers, a southern lateral valley of the Rhone valley in the French-speaking part of the Valais, you will find the holiday resort of Zinal. The end of this valley creates a stunning mountain backdrop - the famous Royal Crown comprising no less than six Alpine four-thousanders, including the Weisshorn, the fourth highest summit in Europe.
In summer, there is a network of 300 kms of wonderful walks with breath-taking views. Zinal is particularly popular with mountain climbers for its majestic mountain world. Bike enthusiasts also love the area for its 150 kms of well-marked trails.
Wonderful winter sports days are also pre-programmed from the snow-sure Valais village. You will find an optimally prepared ski area as well as cross-country runs. Zinal is a well-known address for free riders.
The Valais Alps are home to the highest mountains in Switzerland. The world-famous Matterhorn is just one of them. You can ski in Zermatt 365 days of the year, and in many places children can use the slopes for free. The wild and romantic Goms is a paradise for hikers, snowshoers and cross-country skiers. Highlights include the three largest glaciers in Switzerland: the Aletsch, Gorner and Fiescher glaciers. Families are always welcome in hospitable Valais.
Directions
Arrival by train
Via BLS Visp-Sierre post bus or via Lausanne-Sion-Sierre Zinal post bus. Shortcut through the Lötschberg base tunnel. The post bus will take you all the way to the RekaA holiday village. Bus stop: “Village de vacances”
Arrival by car
Via the N6 motorway Spiez. Car transport in Kandersteg-Goppenstein-Gampel-Sierre or via N12 Chexbres N9 Sion-Sierre. From Sierre/Siders towards Val d'Anniviers/Zinal (28 km, look out for turnoff). The REKA holiday village is located at the back of the village, above the Alpina restaurant.
