Between the Rothorn and the majestic Schrattenfluh, at 1,159 metres above sea level, lies Sörenberg, your holiday home in Central Switzerland for unforgettable hiking holidays in summer and skiing holidays in winter. In the 400 km2 unique UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Entlebuch you can make your own way around the untouched flora and fauna of the protected moors, Alps, forests and karst landscapes or explore the area on educational themed trails. Whether leisurely hikes on the Brienzer Rothorn, speedy descents in the snow-sure ski area or relaxing days with the family - Sörenberg offers unforgettable experiences at any time of year.
The fun already begins in the holiday village. That’s because you will find all you need there for a jam-packed and carefree family holiday: a huge natur playground, a tree top walk, Europe’s largest indoor sandpit, and the adventure pool with bubble bench, waterfall, slide and paddling pool. There is also table tennis, badminton, billiards, a trampoline, table football, a climbing wall, a children’s cinema and even a cycling and go-karting track.
But it’s not all about children; we also have more to offer for parents. Do you long for a few hours to yourself, for example in our sauna? Our Rekalino is here for you. The team will take loving care of your child, with play, fun and sports ideas to suit every age from 2 to 14 years old.
The Reka holiday village comprises 54 apartements in a U-shaped complex - in all holiday apartmens you can enjoy the magnificent view of the mountain world ("Schratte" towards the west, "Rothorn" towards the south and "Rotspitz" towards the east). As the tourist centre of the UNESCO biosphere, Sörenberg offers its guests relaxation, variety and attractive leisure activities in both summer and winter.

Wir waren eine Woche mit zwei kleinen Kindern und den Grosseltern in einer Wohnung mit 3 Schlafzimmern. Die Wohnung bietet viel Stauraum und hat zwei Badezimmer. Ideal für uns. Das Resort hat einen tollen Pool für Kinder und eine schöne kleine Sauna für Erwachsene. Der grosse Indoor-Sandkasten und Spielbereich war ein Highlight für unsere Kinder. Rekalino haben wir nicht genutzt. Das Programm war attraktiv aber die Zeiten haben nicht gut gepasst, da unsere Tochter am Nachmittag in die Skischule gieng und am Morgen eher etwas länger schläft. Die Lage zum Skigebiet und die Parkplatz-Situation sind weitere Pluspunkte. Auch der Skiraum ist sauber, gross und gut Ausgestattet. Der Aussenbereich des Resorts war leider sehr vereist. Der Weg zum Pool oder runter zur Strasse war für Kinder und Erwachsene teilweise abenteuerlich. Sind zum Glück jedoch nur sehr kurze Strecken. Der Brotservice am Morgen und die vielen kostenlosen Extras für Kinder (Buggy, Schlitten, Babybett usw.) haben den Aufenthalt sehr Erleichtert. Die Region bietet das ganze Jahr über viele coole Attraktivitäten für Familien. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Your holiday accommodation in Sörenberg
At the heart of Switzerland lies the holiday village of Sörenberg. The Lucerne village is in the middle of the Entlebuch UNESCO Biosphere. Holidays here, at an altitude of 1,165 meters, are synonymous with immersion in pure natural surroundings. Sörenberg offers a diverse animal and plant world and, on top of this, there is nowhere else in Switzerland which offers such a wide variety of protected moors and marshes in such a small area as here. The family-friendly holiday area offers, relaxation, variety, and a range of attractive leisure opportunities.
In summer, the Brienz Rothorn mountain area is a fabulous, ‘off the beaten track’ walkers’ paradise! The highest mountain in the canton of Lucerne offers breath-taking views over the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. The marsh water park “Mooraculum” is full of surprises to discover around the Moors theme. Whether you are watching, smelling, feeling or tasting – you are guaranteed to use all your senses. Adventure is pre-programmed with the archery course, tobogganing or mini golf.
In the colder months, the snow-sure winter wonderland offers winter sports of all kinds. Sörenberg is the largest winter sports area in the canton of Lucerne with its 53 km of ski-runs. From skiing to freeride and cross-country and snow-shoe hiking or skating on the natural ice rink – everything is there!
The mountain is calling! The main attractions are the Titlis with the highest glacier, the Rigi as queen of the mountains and the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Entlebuch with its pre-alpine moorland and karst landscape.
Directions
Arrival by car
From Lucerne-Wolhusen-Schüpfheim or from Bern-Langnau-Schüpfheim, then head towards Sörenberg. The panorama road (coming from the Brünig side) from Giswil to Sörenberg is only open in summer. The Reka holiday village is located directly opposite the Sörenberg Platz chairlift.
Arrival by train
SBB to Schüpfheim. The PostBus line 241 takes you directly to Sörenberg. The bus stop is right next to the Reka holiday village (Sörenberg Platz).
