Whether leisurely hikes on the Brienzer Rothorn, speedy descents in the snow-sure ski area or relaxing days with the family - Sörenberg offers unforgettable experiences at any time of year.
The fun already begins in the holiday village. That’s because you will find all you need there for a jam-packed and carefree family holiday: a huge natur playground, a tree top walk, Europe’s largest indoor sandpit, and the adventure pool with bubble bench, waterfall, slide and paddling pool. There is also table tennis, badminton, billiards, a trampoline, table football, a climbing wall, a children’s cinema and even a cycling and go-karting track.
But it’s not all about children; we also have more to offer for parents. Do you long for a few hours to yourself, for example in our sauna? Our Rekalino is here for you. The team will take loving care of your child, with play, fun and sports ideas to suit every age from 2 to 14 years old.
The Reka holiday village comprises 54 apartements in a U-shaped complex - in all holiday apartmens you can enjoy the magnificent view of the mountain world ("Schratte" towards the west, "Rothorn" towards the south and "Rotspitz" towards the east). As the tourist centre of the UNESCO biosphere, Sörenberg offers its guests relaxation, variety and attractive leisure activities in both summer and winter.

Wunderschönes Feriendorf, schöner Eingangsbereich, übersichtlicher Aushang der Aktivitäten, renoviertes Zimmer, tolle Spielecke, genialer Aussenbereich sowie Indoorsandkasten, warmes Hallenbad, super nette und jederzeit gelassene Mitarbeiter. Extrem feines Essen am Gästeabend, auch hier total entspannte Mitarbeiter, Rekalino Mitarbeiterinnen ebenfalls ganz toll im Umgang mit Kindern. Leitung Feriendorf speziell zu erwähnen, eine jederzeit gut gelaunte freundliche Person. Schön, dass es noch solche Mitarbeiter gibt!!!! Da können sich andere Feriendörfer, Hotels etc. eine Scheibe davon abschneiden. War ich mir gar nicht gewohnt. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt.

La place de jeu extérieur, la salle de jeu intérieur ainsi que la piscine sont fantastiques. Comme toujours reka fait tout juste. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut sans rajouter trop de "bling bling". Le cadre est magnifique, malheureusement la météo n'était pas au beau fixe et les télécabine étaient à l'arrêt.

Die Wohnung war geràumig; bequeme Betten (auch auf dem Schlafsofa liess es sich wunderbar schlafen) und wir hatten von zu oberst eine tolle Aussicht. Es war alles vorhanden, Küche gut ausgestattet und schön ruhig. Super Spielplatz mit Grillmöglichkeiten und Tischen, schönes Hallenbad und auch im Kinderclub hat es den Kindern gut gefallen. Alle waren herzlich und sehr freundlich.

We were thoroughly disappointed with our stay at the Reka Sörenberg, despite having high expectations. While the facilities were decent, the staff's attitude and behavior fell short of our standards. Unfortunately, the receptionist was not only unfriendly but also made us feel unwelcome due to our limited proficiency in German. As residents of Switzerland with a child born here, we anticipated that the hotel staff would make an effort to communicate with us in English, especially given the international nature of tourism. However, not only did some staff members struggle to speak English, but they also showed no willingness to help us navigate the Reka events, explain how Rekalino worked, or provide basic information. The receptionist's behavior was particularly disturbing, as they publicly shamed us for not speaking German fluently, implying that it was unacceptable for us to live in Switzerland without being proficient in the language. This kind of discrimination and lack of understanding made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Our experience with the Rekalino kids' club was equally disappointing. When we tried to drop off our three-year-old son, the staff seemed disinterested and unengaged, failing to ask about his needs or listen to our instructions. After leaving him in their care, he became upset, and within five minutes, they called us to collect him, stating that he wouldn't stop crying. What struck us as unusual was their inability to calm him down or attempt to engage him, despite his familiarity with Swiss German from attending kindergarten. In contrast, we've had positive experiences with kids' clubs at other family-friendly hotels, where the staff took the time to comfort and distract our son when he was upset. The lack of empathy and understanding displayed by the Reka Sörenberg staff was striking. Overall, our stay was ruined by feelings of exclusion and discrimination, primarily due to the language barrier. If we could turn back time, we would choose not to visit the Reka Sörenberg. In an ideal world, we would expect a full refund for the horrible experience we had, considering the stress and discomfort caused by the staff's behavior. Unfortunately, that's not the case, and we're left feeling frustrated and disappointed. We would appreciate guidance on how to file a formal complaint with Reka, as we believe that their management should be aware of the issues we faced during our stay. We hope that by sharing our experience, we can help prevent similar situations from happening to other families in the future. At the heart of Switzerland lies the holiday village of Sörenberg. The Lucerne village is in the middle of the Entlebuch UNESCO Biosphere. Holidays here, at an altitude of 1,165 meters, are synonymous with immersion in pure natural surroundings. In summer, the Brienz Rothorn mountain area is a fabulous, ‘off the beaten track’ walkers’ paradise! The highest mountain in the canton of Lucerne offers breath-taking views over the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. The marsh water park “Mooraculum” is full of surprises to discover around the Moors theme. Whether you are watching, smelling, feeling or tasting – you are guaranteed to use all your senses. Adventure is pre-programmed with the archery course, tobogganing or mini golf.
In the colder months, the snow-sure winter wonderland offers winter sports of all kinds. Sörenberg is the largest winter sports area in the canton of Lucerne with its 53 km of ski-runs. From skiing to freeride and cross-country and snow-shoe hiking or skating on the natural ice rink – everything is there!
About the region
The mountain is calling! The main attractions are the Titlis with the highest glacier, the Rigi as queen of the mountains and the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Entlebuch with its pre-alpine moorland and karst landscape.
Directions
Arrival by car
From Lucerne-Wolhusen-Schüpfheim or from Bern-Langnau-Schüpfheim, then head towards Sörenberg. The panorama road (coming from the Brünig side) from Giswil to Sörenberg is only open in summer. The Reka holiday village is located directly opposite the Sörenberg Platz chairlift.
Arrival by train
SBB to Schüpfheim. Continue by post bus via Klusstalden-Flüehli-Sörenberg. The bus stop is directly next to the Reka holiday village. Opposite the Sörenberg Platz car park and chairlift.
