The 528-hectare lagoon island of Albarella is located in the middle of the Po Delta and is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Vacation apartments, groups of villas with gardens, private villas with pools and 2 hotels are spread across the entire island. The accommodation is divided into different zones, so the distance to the beach varies. The resort has a reception, sports and water sports center, several restaurants, cafes, gelaterias, bars, pizzeria, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, butcher, hairdresser, jeweler, clothing stores, beauty center in the golf hotel and marina. Daily doctor's consultation, customer laundry, ATM. Free Wi-Fi in the villas with pool, in the Hotel Capo Nord and in public areas. Free parking at the accommodation. Day trips to Venice, Ravenna, Chioggia, Comacchio and Ferrara can be booked on site.
Location: 75 km south of Venice, 30 km south of Chioggia and 10 km east of Rosolina (mainland). Car recommended, no public transportation on the island. A free island train circulates on the island every hour from May to September.
Swimming: There are various bathing options on the island - the "Fiordi" waterway, a natural swimming pool (sea and fresh water), the pool area at the Centro Sportivo and the sea. The Centro Sportivo (open from 17.05.-13.09.2026) has a large bathing area with several swimming pools, including an Olympic swimming pool (50 × 25 m) and a children's paddling pool (not heated, fresh water). The swimming pools are supervised, bathing caps are obligatory, sun loungers and parasols by the pool are available for a fee.
On the east coast is the approx. 2.5 km long gently sloping sandy beach - 2 sections/zones (zone "Capo Nord" with beach bar and zone "Centro Sportivo") with beach service (sun loungers and parasols (subject to charge)) as well as free, public beach and separate beach section for dogs (subject to charge).
The small private beach Mare Vostrum in the south of the island has a small bar and beach service (for a fee).
Family-friendly: Low-traffic island with mini and maxi club (4-12 years), junior club (from 13 years), indoor playroom, entertainment at the sports center (May-September), children's playgrounds, aviary, plenty of space to play, Albarellaland adventure park and Acqua Splash water park.
Leisure/sport: The island is best explored by bike. Free of charge: Fitness center, aquafit, Zumba, aerobics, yoga, volleyball, football and basketball, beach volleyball, Vita-Parcours. For a fee: bike hire with child seat, table tennis, mini golf, horse riding, 24 tennis courts, golf with license. Pedalo and stand up paddle rental at the water sports center. The sailing and surfing school offers surfing, sailing, kitesurfing and diving courses. Swimming, stand up paddle and tennis courses can also be booked on site (some of these courses only take place in July/August).
Services: The bicycles and beach service (2 sun loungers and 1 parasol from the 3rd row of the beach per accommodation; open from 17.05.-07.09.2026) are included in the price or payable on site, depending on the length of stay or accommodation category. Detailed information can be found under the respective room category.
Important information for stays (apartments & vacation homes) from 08.09.-17.10.2026: Please note that from 08.09.2026 all services will no longer be available and stores and restaurants will be closed. There are still 3 restaurants open on the island and the nearest supermarket is 12 km away. there is no beach service during this time. From 08.09.-17.10.2026 sun loungers and parasols can be used free of charge (self-service). Bicycles are available free of charge.
Hotel Capo Nord (open from 25.04.-06.09.2026)
The Hotel Capo Nord with 86 rooms is located in the northern part of the island, 200 meters from the beach and has 1 buffet restaurant with outdoor area, lounge bar, reception, swimming pool with children's paddling pool (reserved for hotel guests) and some sun beds (free of charge, limited number).

Tip #5: Porto Levante – A Paradise for Cyclists and Nature Lovers
Discover Porto Levante, a charming fishing village in the Po Delta. Enjoy freshly caught fish in delightful restaurants and explore the lagoon on cycling paths along scenic canals and river mouths. The ferry conveniently takes you directly from the resort’s harbor to Porto Levante.
Tip #6: Porto Caleri Nature Park
Experience the Po Delta’s nature up close! The Porto Caleri Nature Park offers 4 km of hiking trails through pine forests, dunes, and saltwater areas. A special highlight: the Laudato Sì Chapel.
The experience of the green lagoon holiday island of Albarella. It is located 75 km south of Venice, 30 km south of Chioggia and 10 km east of Rosolina (mainland). The private lagoon island can be reached from the mainland via a 10 km long causeway. This natural paradise is home to rare trees and plants as well as deer, roe deer, pheasants and many species of birds (protected). The 5 km long and 2.5 km wide flat island (2/3 of it is covered with forest) has a gently sloping sandy beach (2.5 km) on the Adriatic side. The Fiordi (waterways) and the Mare Vostrum (Fiordi Lake) are on the west side of the island. On the lagoon island there are holiday flats, groups of country houses, private villas, hotels, reception, sports and water sports centre, tennis, golf, horse riding and much more.

By car:
From Swiss border Chiasso motorway A9 to Milan, motorway A4 Milan-Venice, exit Verona - motorway Transpolesana direction Rovigo, continue towards the Adriatic Sea - Loreo - Rosolina - 11 Km causeway to Albarella. Alternative route: Padova Est exit - Strada Romea direction Ravenna - Chioggia - Rosolina - 11 Km causeway to Albarella.
Car required, no public transport to the island. A free island train circulates on the island every hour from May to September, bicycles recommended on the island.
