Museum of Appenzeller Traditions
Located directly on the village square, the museum is a special kind of local museum. Since its opening, it has showcased the traditions that are still very much alive in Urnäsch today. The exhibition rooms, shop, tourist office and administration are spread over three adjoining buildings. We give every guest one free entry to the magnificent Appenzell Traditions Museum Urnäsch.
Kronberg
Visit Gonten's local mountain - the Kronberg. You can reach it comfortably by cable car Jakobsbad-Kronberg or by one of the numerous hiking trails. The Kronberg bob run and the Kronberg adventure park are located at the valley station. The barefoot trail also starts here and leads over 4.9 kilometres to Gontenbad. The Kronbergbahn accepts Reka money and gives each family a voucher for 1 free bobsleigh ride.

Pumptrack Urnäsch
Pumptrack? This is the pure joy of movement on a bike, scooter or skateboard. You have to maintain momentum and speed on the endless course with waves and curves. The "pump track" starts 300 metres from the holiday village. Admission is free.
Rekalino-Trail
The Rekalino Trail is an interactive puzzle fun for young and old, which can be played in 13 Reka holiday resorts in Switzerland. The adventure takes participants into the story of "Rekalino & Rekalina", complete with tricky puzzles, games, challenges and experiments. The trail can be played in German and French.

Urnäsch, the beautiful village on the river with the same name in the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes, lies at the foot of the steeply towering Säntis mountain, nestling in green meadows and hilly countryside. In the Appenzell hinterland old customs are still proudly kept up and celebrated today. The lively village leads a busy economic life yet has all the same managed to protect its rural character and oriented itself early on towards soft, family-friendly tourism. Its well-known picturesque village square invites you to linger and the numerous walking trails, restaurants and attractions make time fly by.

Directions
Travelling by train
SBB to Gossau, from Gossau take the Appenzeller Bahnen to Urnäsch. From Urnäsch railway station it is only about 100 steps to the hotel.
Arrival by car
Motorway A1 Zurich direction St. Gallen - exit Gossau. Head towards Herisau - Waldstatt as far as Urnäsch. Once in the village centre, follow the signs to Hotel Krone.
