Brissago is located between Locarno, the warmest city in Switzerland, and the border with Italy. The charming village enchants visitors with its picturesque centre by the lake. Narrow, winding streets around the beautiful Renaissance church of San Pietro e Paolo invite you to take a stroll. Brissago enjoys national fame as the lowest point in Switzerland (197 m above sea level) and for the iconic cigars from its tobacco factory. It is also known far beyond Switzerland’s borders for its views of the Brissago islands and its many mansions with wonderful gardens, especially the botanical garden, which the Russian baroness Antoinette Saint-Léger had built between 1885 and 1928 as an earthly paradise.
