A new shuttle boat to Parkhotel Brenscino allows guests to arrive by water and avoid the traffic
3. April 2023
Can you imagine a more relaxed way to start a holiday on Lake Maggiore? As of this year’s summer season (31 March to 22 October 2023), Parkhotel Brenscino Brissago will collect its guests free of charge by shuttle boat from the jetty in Locarno. This will allow guests to enjoy a pleasant, congestion-free trip to and from Ticino by train – and make sure their holiday starts long before they even set foot in the beautifully located three-star superior resort above the lake.
Parkhotel Brenscino Brissago wants to offer guests the greatest possible comfort and has purchased a new boat that it has named “Seastar – powered by Reka & Tissot” with the Swiss watch brand Tissot after the famous watch model. The Sunchaser “Geneva 24 LR PSB” pontoon boat awaits the guests at the pier just a short walk of around 500 metres from Locarno train station. Captain Sebastiano Salice and his deputy Mattia Falda will provide this shuttle service during the season, receiving the newly arrived guests at the station, accompanying them to the boat and welcoming them on board with an ice-cold Prosecco. The perfect dolce vita feeling right from the moment of arrival! The boat offers space for a maximum of nine guests and their luggage. The free boat transfer can be booked online through the hotel website until 5.15 p.m. daily, with advance reservation required. If, however, the weather is poor, the hotel bus will be used instead.
On a beautiful sunny day in Ticino, the boat trip from Locarno takes around half an hour across Lake Maggiore towards Brissago. Passengers can breathe in the fresh lake air and enjoy the glittering water during the trip, and already start relaxing into their holiday. The hotel bus will be waiting at the pier in Brissago to take guests the final short stretch (around 1.5 kilometres) to the hotel.
On arrival at the hotel, they can choose from a wide range of facilities and activities. Guest can spend sunny afternoons by the pool overlooking the lake, play minigolf or tennis, or hire the hotel’s Fiat 500 convertible and explore the surrounding area. The picturesque Valle Maggia with its dreamy little villages, for example, is an ideal destination for discovery, or another option is to drive over to Lugano in just under an hour for a visit to the MASILugano art museum or a short shopping trip.
But the biggest star of any stay in Ticino will of course always be the lake, and evenings on Lake Maggiore are best enjoyed from the idyllic hotel terrace of the Al Fresco restaurant with homemade risotto, pizza and pasta. Alternatively, guests can treat themselves to a special lake highlight and hire the “Seastar – powered by Reka & Tissot” for a private boat trip on the lake. Gentle waves, the lights along the shore and the mountain silhouettes on the horizon, together with a picnic, red roses everywhere and refreshing drinks – what a perfect setting for some on-board romance!
Prices for a double room including breakfast start at CHF 210.
