A unique family night at the Reka giraffe lodge
Your next ‘safari’ starts at Lake Zurich. You can book a charming little house inside the giraffe enclosure at Knies Kinderzoo in Rapperswil. For one night, you can become part of the fascinating world of the zoo. The smells and sounds are just like in the wilderness. An elephant trumpets in the distance, the zebras snort, the exotic chickens bawk. But the best thing is that you’ll get to enjoy an unforgettable stay in the midst of the Rothschild giraffes. Lying on your bed, you’ll be able to watch the gentle giants right up close. From the terrace you’ll look deep into their beautiful big eyes with maybe the animal world’s longest eyelashes – magical, enchanting and moving, all at the same time.

Flat Rate: CHF 690.00
Location: Giraffe enclosure at Knies Kinderzoo. The lodge is accessed from outside the zoo, from the public road. You can only visit the zoo during opening hours (except for the exclusive giraffe feeding before the zoo opens).

Rapperswil-Jona captivates visitors with its picturesque location on Lake Zurich and at the foot of the rolling hills of the Oberland. The historic old town with its castle, visible from afar, and the blossoming lakeside promenade give the «city of roses» its special charm. Surrounded by water, vineyards, and nature trails, the region offers numerous opportunities for hiking, cycling, and walking – for example, along the famous wooden footbridge to Hurden. Knie's Children's Zoo is also popular with families.
A boat trip across Lake Zurich offers impressive views of the Alps and the lake, while in summer sailing, stand-up paddling and swimming provide relaxing activities. On clear and clean Lake Constance you can enjoy every possible kind of water activity, and the area is also very well set up for cycling.
Directions
By public transport: ‘Rapperswil, Kinderzoo’ bus stop right in front of the zoo entrance, 5-minute walk from Rapperswil railway station or 15-minute walk from the landing stage if arriving by boat.
By car: A3 Zurich-Chur/Chur-Zurich motorway, Pfäffikon/SZ exit, or Forch motorway, Rapperswil exit. A parking space is reserved for Giraffe Lodge guests right opposite the main entrance.
