Playa de Palma – also known as Platja de Palma – was named after the capital and is a 6-kilometre stretch of coastline with holiday accommodation, stretching from Can Pastilla south of the centre of Palma to S'Arenal further southeast. During the day the place is a popular hotspot for lovers of beach life, in the evening it turns into a party mecca with bars and discos. The palm-lined beach promenade offers many swimming and water sports opportunities, such as the Aqualand water park in El Arenal, which is especially loved by families. The shopping opportunities are diverse. Souvenir shops, nightclubs, themed and elegant hotel bars as well as more and more gourmet restaurants compete here for the favor of the guests.
