Holiday village Rustici della Verzasca
The facility
The harmoniously grown ensemble of traditional Ticino stone houses, called “Rustici”, has been used as a vacation village since the 1960s. There is a choice of 17 individual and original accommodation units in smaller and larger rustici, some of which have the characteristic features of rustici such as low door heights, narrow passageways and narrow spiral staircases. The accommodation has a kitchen, a bathroom and an outdoor seating area or typical wooden balcony. The cottages are grouped like a small village around the Osteria Paradiso, where home-made Ticino specialties are served. Free sauna with grotto for Rustici guests. Parking in the public parking lot (for a fee). Free Wi-Fi.
Special offer 7=6, valid as follows:
Summer season 2026: 02.04.2026-27.06.2026, 15.08.2026-01.11.2026
Location
Located on a south-facing slope above the Verzasca reservoir. The bus stop “Berzona, Rustici” is in the immediate vicinity. Locarno and Ascona can be reached by car in 15 minutes. Sonogno, the rearmost village in the Verzasca Valley, is approx. 30 minutes' drive away.
Family-friendly
The vacation village has a small outdoor pool (5 meters long), a playground, ping-pong table and table football, outdoor mill game and boccia court. The lounge has the only TV in the complex as well as games and books. Fresh baked goods can be purchased from a bakery cart on weekdays. Laundry room for a fee.
Note
Due to the typical narrow and winding passages and stairs, the complex is only suitable for small children to a limited extent.
Experiences
Hiking trails, bike and cycle routes, barbecue areas, hidden bathing spots in small natural pools and visits to the picturesque villages ensure a varied program. The life-size BoBosco natural marble run with 23 play stations, the legend trail near Gerra, the Boulder Garden in Brione and the Escape Room in the magnificent Castello Marcacci are particularly suitable for families. For thrill-seekers, there is bungee jumping from the dam wall, famous from the James Bond film «Golden Eye». If you feel the need for a quiet day at the beach, Lake Maggiore is not far away. In Tenero, you can linger on the beautiful sandy beaches or take a boat trip from Locarno. The rope park in Gordola is also worth a detour before returning to the Verzasca Valley.

Rustici waren sehr schön. Osteria sehr freundliches aufgestelltes Personal.

The huge dam of the Vogorno reservoir seems to block access to the Verzasca Valley. But once you have reached the height of the dam, you find yourself at the beginning of one of the most unspoilt valleys in Ticino. In this valley, near the lake, lies the village of Vogorno-Berzona, which has been turned into a holiday village. Gentle tourism is trying to counteract the depopulation of the deeply incised valley. Hikers, cyclists, bike racing buffs, golfers, yachtswomen, gourmets, racing drivers, nature enthusiasts and culture lovers … Ticino brings a smile to everybody’s face! Favourite destinations in the Sopraceneri region are the southern foothills of the Alps, the medieval castles in Bellinzona, Locarno with the international film festival, the markets in neighbouring Italy and the romantic Maggia and Verzasca valleys. The Sottoceneri region around fashionable Lugano offers lakes and mountains, culture, first-class musical events, culinary highlights as well as great shopping opportunities. The southern part of the canton is particularly interesting for anyone looking for the perfect combination of urbanity and nature.
Ticino attracts visitors with its southern charm and sub-tropical vegetation unique to these parts. In Switzerland’s “sun lounge” you’ll enjoy the particularly mild climate from spring right through until late autumn.
