The Val d'Anniviers is located above the narrow and deep Navisence Gorge south of Siders. Above this steep step the valley widens and the forest clears. Chandolin, high on a sunny slope, is connected to the ski area of St-Luc. The larger resort Zinal is the last inhabited settlement far back in the valley.
