Gudo

Gudo is located at the foot of the mountain on the right side of the Magadino plain and is about 16 km from Locarno. Its former municipality is crossed by the river Ticino. The settlement area of Gudo, the most southwestern part of the new municipality of Bellinzona, lies mainly on the right side of the valley. The rest of the area consists of slopes covered with vines. The historical core, of which only a few scattered rural buildings remain, has been almost completely replaced by new buildings. Nearby attractions: Castelli di Bellinzona, Piazza Grande, Locarno, Ascona, Ronco sopra Ascona, Isole di Brissago, Cardada, Madonna del Sasso, Mercato Luino e Cannobio IT. Well-known lakes can easily be reached: Lago Maggiore, Lago di Lugano, Lago di Como. Hiking areas: Valle Verzasca, Centovalli, Vallemaggia.
